We are looking for:

  • A Profession and skilled Company Accounting Manager in Japan with significant experience in multinational companies to support global Businesses, Functions, and Corporate for decision-making, by providing user-friendly financial reports (Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, Profit, and Loss statements, among others), compliant with legal and group requirements, through standardized, automated, and streamlined processes at the best cost for our Accounting & Reporting team.
  • This position will report directly to the Country Accounting Director (CAD) under Finance Service Line and work closely with the Accounting platform team based in Bangkok, Thailand including collaboration with other service lines.


We count on you for:

  • Fully lead and responsible for 2 legal Japan entities; Manufacturing entity, and Distribution and Function Management entity with main accountability on IFRS accounting, Local GAAP accounting, Tax and compliance.
  • Play a critical role in adding value to operations as well as strategic initiatives, proactively seeking and recommending improvements across various activities.
  • Ensure IFRS & local compliance obligations in terms of Accounting and Tax, by defining relevant accounting treatment in a country, in the interest of the Group and in alignment with GAR (Solvay Group Accounting and Reporting) including support the roll-out of a new regulation and/or a new process implementation.
  • Perform local statutory financial accounts and tax ; Corporate & VAT tax filing, and TP documentations, in respect of the local regulations including submission in designated deadline.
  • Support GAR (Solvay Group Accounting and Reporting) by contributing to the management cycle (provide forecast, monitor cash flow statement per legal entity and propose actions to improve cash generation) and financial controlling e.g. review of complex contract, IFRS 16 analysis, simulations (new standard, major transaction, Group reorganization, etc…)
  • Be the focal point in Japan for Finance matters and coordinate with local Banks.
  • Oversee the internal control within the companies in charge to ensure the reliability of the financial statement and ensure corrective actions coming from audit reports are implemented.
  • Provide the financial information to board’s meeting within timely manner
  • Deal with local authorities by providing the requested information and replying to any inquiries on time.
  • Build and maintain trusting, collaborative relationships with the Group’s key stakeholders, consultants, service providers and business partners across functions and cultures.
  • Perform ad hoc activities or projects as assigned by CAD or support Global projects if any.

You will bring:

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting or equivalent, Japan CPA or US CPA is a plus
  • A strong background in financial controlling ( consolidation or local statutory accounting) of more than 10 years, in Industry or Audit firms, granting a strong background in Tax and local accounting practices as well as IFRS standards
  • Experience in MNC environment is advantage and ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels across different cultures, work as part of a network with peers, and the rest of the Service line teams to fulfill the missions.
  • Ability to balance hands-on financial management with making senior-level decisions
  • Able to listen and provide a deep level of business insight when exercising a judgment on specific issues regarding financial statements to make decision in the interest of the Group
  • Demonstrate to excel and aglie in a stressful environment, work under pressure and independently with less supervision.
  • Strong experience in SAP and BFC would be a plus.
  • Self-starter, achievement driven to identify, propose and fulfill challenging targets
  • Good command in English and strong in communication skills.
