Assistant Manager - The role requires demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing team. Proven capabilities of setting up Multi country Statutory Reporting, managing process and financial reporting process.


The opportunity
Assistant Manager ACR will play a critical role in setting up the financial reporting process across various jurisdictions and tool development. The opportunity to work closely with MENA Engagement leaders for consistency in management reporting, preparation, and review of financial statements etc. Provide outstanding contribution/support to consulting with engagement teams on all compliance and reporting activities.


Your key responsibilities

  • Local GAAP knowledge for EMEA region, experience in financial reporting, familiarity with disclosure requirements and accounting standards
  • Provide advice and guidance as a subject matter expert (SME) for CaseWare tool and content
  • Detailed review of accounts, schedules, and workings to testify the quality of deliverables, and assist in effectively implementing the internal review mechanism and Control process and obtain excellent feedback from the client and global project counterparts
  • Manage tool testing in collaboration with the technology development team
  • Coordinate the global corporate accounting process and/ or statutory reporting compliance for EY Local teams
  • Liaise with the EY Local teams on the reporting processes and continuous improvement opportunities
  • Execute and lead multiple project work streams, including opportunity identification, ideation, stakeholder communication, technology vendor management and delivery
  • Own and maintain internal and external reporting dashboards to demonstrate progress of activities and status quo of multi country engagements
  • Manage engagement risk, project economics, manage escalations and ensure effective planning and budgeting
  • Identifying problems in the process or output and provide effective solutions
  • Willingness to challenge status quo processes and desire to implement process improvements by providing lean ideas, enforcing an environment with uncompromising controls and improve quality
  • Promote teamwork and to maintain effective team dynamics
  • Develop and maintain a diverse set of business relationships during project engagements
  • Effective work planning and capacity planning to support other colleagues

Skills and attributes for success

  • Hands on experience in any of the financial reporting tools like Thomson Reuters, CaseWare.
  • Technical competence in financial reporting and the industry / specialized field
  • Experience in managing EMEA clients and their statutory reporting processes will be preferred
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Strong client and stakeholder management skills
  • Self-motivated, aspirational, and result oriented.


To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Chartered Accountant (CA/ACCA) with at least 7-8 years of post-qualification work experience with IFRS experience
  • In depth knowledge of IFRS is essential
  • US GAAP/ other GAAPs knowledge/experience will be added advantage


Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations
  • Strong leadership skills that create high performance climate
