Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and grow engineering teams
Drive hiring, onboarding, performance evaluation, and career development initiatives
Conduct regular 1-on-1s and support engineers' professional growth
Improve engineering processes, development workflows, and team productivity
Promote Agile and Scrum best practices across engineering teams
Partner closely with Product Managers, Designers, and Business Leaders
Manage technical debt, quality improvement initiatives, and engineering standards
Collaborate with executive leadership on organizational planning and resource allocation
Build a healthy engineering culture focused on ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Requirements
Requirements
Professional software development experience with the ability to participate in technical discussions, architecture reviews, and code reviews
Experience managing engineering teams of 5+ members
Experience in hiring, performance evaluation, coaching, and talent development
Business-level Japanese communication skills (JLPT N1 or equivalent required)
Strong stakeholder management and leadership skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience leading teams in startup or high-growth environments
Experience designing hiring frameworks and performance evaluation systems
Experience introducing or improving Agile development practices
Experience managing multicultural or distributed engineering teams
Experience working with AI, SaaS, or technology-driven products
Working Environment
International environment with both Japanese and global team members
English is welcomed, but not required
Japanese communication is essential due to the high level of interaction with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams
