We are seeking a highly skilled Oracle Applications Database Administrator (Apps DBA) to join our technology team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, upgrading, administration, and monitoring of our enterprise Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) environments and underlying Oracle databases. You will ensure maximum uptime, optimal performance, and robust security across our production, test, and development ecosystems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Track all the work clients have in this space working with partner teams
- Environment Management: Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Oracle E-Business Suite (R12.2+) and Oracle Databases (19c/21c+).
- Patching & Maintenance: Plan and execute application patching using ADOP (Online Patching) and database patching (RU/RUR).
- Cloning Operations: Perform regular cloning of production environments to test and development instances.
- Performance Tuning: Monitor and optimize database performance, SQL queries, concurrent managers, and WebLogic middle-tier services.
- Backup & Recovery: Maintain comprehensive backup and recovery procedures using Oracle RMAN and validate disaster recovery (DR) readiness.
- High Availability: Manage and troubleshoot Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), Data Guard, and Automatic Storage Management (ASM).
- Security & Compliance: Implement database security standards, manage user access, and apply critical security patches (CPU/PSU).
- Support & Collaboration: Interface with Oracle Support to resolve complex Service Requests (SRs) and collaborate with development teams on object deployment.
Requirements
What we are looking for:
- Minimum of 10+ years of hands-on experience as an Oracle Apps DBA managing large-scale production environments.
- Education qualification: Any degree from a reputed college
- Oracle Architecture: Deep understanding of Oracle EBS 3-tier architecture and Oracle Database internals.
- Hands-on experience in relational databases preferably in Oracle
- Advanced command of SQL alongside database-specific procedural extensions (e.g., PL/SQL).
- Experience in deploying and optimizing managed cloud databases
- Middleware Tools: Proven experience with Oracle WebLogic Server administration, OHS, and Forms/Reports services.
- Operating Systems: Strong command of Linux/Unix environments, shell scripting (Bash/Ksh), and system utilities.
- Utilities: Proficiency with adadmin, adpatch, admerge, autoconfig, and Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) Cloud Control.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with stakeholders.
- Experience in GCP DB technologies is preferred. Any awareness of other Cloud DB technologies will be a plus
- Japanese language preferred, not essential.
