The Regional customer application engineer (RCAE) will involve in product campaigning & positioning, assessment of customer specifications, evaluating life cycle value of the deal and releases firm customer requirements to ITO teams for developing firm technical contracts or proposals. In this role, RCAE will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, be involved in long-term planning & strategy on process and people.
The RCAE should demonstrates lead in communicating market needs and in driving product and plant specifications to achieve higher penetration of GE solutions in the region. In this role, RCAE will utilize his/her experience or expertise to lead and solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals of Regional Customer Application Engineering (RCAE) organization.
Execute the evaluation of technical proposal using excellent engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.
Develop and coach every team members to achieve their career interest in short and long term.
Provide hands-on support to team based on critical stage of the proposal or during project development phase.
Handle customer meetings with excellent technical preparation and with good insight on deal economics and influencing drivers.
Provide strong coordination between the sales / commercial operations, customer and application engineering during the pre-bidding process and in interpretation of RFQ specifications to influence deal drivers by generating bid queries.
Keep strong connections with MRCI, commercial, CAE teams during bidding process to support evaluation of final life cycle to win deal with profitability.
Drive document technical data generated by the team for assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments to broader application engineering leadership teams.
Participate along with team to address organizational initiatives and generic issues.
Masters in Engineering with specialization in Thermal/Energy, Power plant and Thermal sciences.
At least 10+ years of experience in the field of combined cycle plant performance, gas turbine, steam turbine performance, application and engineering design.
Hands on experience with turbomachinery performance tools and familiar with ITO/OTR process.
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams and key initiatives.
