Role Responsibilities

We’re seeking for an Associate, Know Your Customer (KYC) Specialist in Western Union Digital Customer Verification Team, based in Japan. In this role, you will be a part of a highly engaged team who responds to the need of Western Union to comply with regulations that require the identification of regular online service consumers. It is a part of the Know Your Customer (KYC) program.

  • Support WesternUnion.com consumers in Japan with their digital identity verification process.
  • Providing email and phone support to consumers with the digital identity verification process.
  • Help look for ways of improving customer experience and make recommendations on potential process improvements ideas.
  • Ability to multitask using multiple tools and work independently as needed.
  • Meet strict deadlines, consistently and successfully meet performance metrics.
  • Have very strong analytical skills, feel comfortable working in a broad and global organization and with various groups.
  • Have exceptional customer service skills and a customer-first mindset. whilst meeting business goals.
  • Can grasp new concepts and integrate quickly to deliver significant quantifiable results.

Role Requirements

  • High school degree required; college degree is a plus.
  • Able to read Japanese kanji characters and fluent in speaking Japanese. (N1- Native)
  • English proficiency (verbal, written and listening)
  • Burmese proficiency (verbal, written and listening)
  • Customer centric approach.
  • Schedule flexibility (ideal).
  • Ability to multi-task and to work independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Preferred: Additional language(s) proficiency: Tagalog, Thai, Vietnamese or Bahasa

Work Shift

Western Union values in-person collaboration, problem solving, and ideation whenever possible. We believe this fosters common ways of working and supports how we execute initiatives for our customers. The expectation is to work from the office a minimum of three days a week and for this role there will be Rotational Shifts
