The Red Hat Consulting Services team is looking for an Associate Consultant to join us in Tokyo, Japan. Our consultants do more than just consult. In this role, you will lead on-site delivery and implement great technology that delivers freedom, flexibility, choice, and superior performance. You’ll gain understanding of our customer’s open source based infrastructure and business issues, and make recommendations appropriate to their environment. This role is ideal for an Associate Consultant who wants to build on their core base of middleware knowledge and work in a fast-paced environment promoting Red Hat solutions.

  • Be the subject matter expert at the customer site, addressing the technical, development, or strategic IT needs
  • Manage problem identification, system architecture definition, software specification and design, testing, and deployment of open source solutions
  • Adapt to changing customer requirements
  • Respond to incidents, escalations, and exceptions in a professional manner

  • 2-5 years of experience in Java or middleware development
  • 2-5 years of enterprise web application development experience
  • Knowledge of enterprise design patterns and professional software development methodologies
  • Understanding of two or more Java frameworks or libraries like Spring, Hibernate, or Struts
  • Practical written and verbal English communication skills
