Ensure that deals are captured correctly in the booking system, by performing trade validations / reconciling deal recaps; coordinating with Traders, Sales as well as Brokers.
Perform reconciliations, investigate breaks, and ensure that all breaks are resolved accurately and in a timely manner. Our controls are key to support our business and clients.
Check daily regulatory reports, eg. Mandatory Clearing, and take necessary actions to avoid regulatory breaches
Perform business efficiency tasks such as Deal Compressions ( eg. triReduce ) that involve large data & coordination among the trading desks, Tech, Product Control
Lead the implementation & operational project management relevant to the LIBOR transition project, including stakeholder management within the Middle Office group. Act as MO’s representative on various working groups to advocate Japan MO's position.
Review business requirements, technical specifications, implementation & Test / UAT plans in partnership with the respective business users and technology teams. Work collaboratively with colleagues on detailed analysis of deal population, processes and systems / workflows for cross asset Derivatives.
Coordinate project timelines & requirements, and monitor various aspects of the assigned projects
Enhance existing processes that will be impacted by LIBOR transition (eg. Settlement breaks resolutions, based on new rate) and/or develop robust control procedures for any new requirements identified to ensure appropriate processes are in place.
Post-implementation of the project, coordinate the drafting & implementation of new Team Procedures (e.g. Changes in clearing eligibilities), identify areas for improvement & define plans to address.
Work closely and effectively with immediate team colleagues, the business and other support functions to provide a high standard of support to an active Rates business & their clients.
Timely escalation of issues to Middle Office management.
Communicating well & in a timely fashion with MO colleagues, Project Managers, the business and other support & control functions.
Required Skills and Abilities
Product Knowledge: Derivative Knowledge preferred from at least one asset class ( e.g. Rates )
Communication: Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, presentation) and ability to liaise with large global multi-function departments. English Communication: (advanced to fluent verbal and written level – above TOIEC 850). Fluency in Japanese language, both written and spoken required
Experience: Demonstrated experience of delivery on project or process change
Organization: Strong organization and multi-tasking skills. Flexibility to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities along with a desire to work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines.
Analytical: Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to research an issue across sources to identify plans to deliver. A high level of attention to detail. An ability to pick up and learn systems, trade flows and concepts quickly.
Interpersonal: Excellent interpersonal skills to develop relationships both internally and externally to collaborate effectively. Ability to Lead and influence multiple individuals who do not directly work for you. An ability to work harmoniously with various teams and people from diverse backgrounds and nationalities.
Technical Skills: Advanced knowledge of Excel preferred. BA/BS or other Project-related skills would be an advantage.
Preferred: JSDA Registered Representative (Internal Control Manager or Class I preferred).
Desired Level of Qualification
Education: Undergraduate degree level
Work Experience: Middle Office experience is strongly preferred, especially experience working with OTC Interest rate derivatives
