Job Description
The Data Center Team is seeking an engineer to oversee the operation and management of infrastructure environments, including on-premises and cloud environments within Japan. This role spans networking, servers (Windows/Linux), virtual environments, storage, backup, and cloud (AWS, Azure, etc.), with responsibility for the operation and improvement of hybrid environments, as well as supporting implementation, migration, and operational design for ongoing infrastructure renewal projects.
Job Responsibilities
- Support the deployment of Nutanix-based virtual infrastructure and Cisco UCS servers
- Support deployment and operational launch in collaboration with vendors (Cisco, Net One Systems)
- Support migrating virtual machines from the existing VMware environment to Nutanix
- Support the design and implementation of a backup environment using Veeam
- Support integrating backups into the new virtual infrastructure (Nutanix)
- Support upgrading or decommissioning servers running end-of-life operating systems (Windows/Linux)
- Conduct inventory of target servers and support migration planning
- Provide operational support for AWS, Azure, Oracle Cloud, etc.
- Support organization of AWS accounts and global integration
- Prepare for and support migration for the next infrastructure update at Fujitsu data centers
- Review configurations to reduce vendor lock-in
- Support preparation and migration of the consolidated file server from Dell to NetApp
Required Qualifications
- Degree in an IT-related field or equivalent knowledge and experience
- 5+ years of data center or infrastructure operations experience
- Basic knowledge of virtual infrastructure (VMware, Nutanix, etc.)
- Basic knowledge of servers and storage
- Experience operating Windows and Linux servers
- Basic knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS and Microsoft Azure
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic Information Technology Engineer certification
- LinuC Level 3
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Oracle Database Bronze DBA
- Cisco CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate)
Languages Required: Business level Japanese (JLPT N3 or N2) and Business level English
