Job Description:

Blackstone’s Real Estate Private Equity Group offers their professionals the chance to work in all aspects of real estate investing and can expect to be staffed on multiple transactions at one time. Senior Associates are involved with the development, structuring and financing of transactions and regularly attend both external and internal meetings, negotiations and due diligence sessions.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and execute real estate investments in Asia-Pacific, with focus in Japan.
  • Perform market research and valuation analyses of prospective investment opportunities in different real estate sectors, including office, shopping malls, warehouses, and hotels.
  • Act as point person for acquisitions, work with senior management and coordinate analyst responsibilities.
  • Perform extensive due diligence on each transaction, including travelling to the properties, meeting with management, coordinating with various advisors, and formulating investment strategies and business plans.
  • Prepare written analyses and evaluations of investment opportunities for Blackstone’s Real Estate Private Equity Group’s investment committee.
  • Participate in execution of transactions, including negotiations of contracts and agreements with sellers and financing banks.
  • Participate in both internal and external client meetings.
  • Assist asset managers in managing current investments, including analyzing potential refinancing and exit opportunities.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate must have:

  • At least 4-6 year of finance experience, ideally in real estate investment experience
  • Superior academic achievement
  • Strong analytical skills and detail-oriented
  • Strong project management, financial and analytical skills
  • An entrepreneurial demeanor, results focused.
  • Ability to build strong internal and external relationships.
  • The candidate must have excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills in English and Japanese.
  • Strong work ethic to persevere; genuine passion for excellence; results-oriented
  • He/She will be team-oriented and collaborative and must possess strong integrity and professionalism.
  • Bachelor’s degree with honors from a top university or college
