Job Description:

Blackstone’s Real Estate Asset Management Group expects Analysts to be engaged in all aspects of real estate asset management including post acquisition transition, valuation, budgeting and working closely with Blackstone's portfolio companies and acquisition team. Analysts are involved in financial modeling and discussions related to leasing, restructuring, refinancing and disposition strategies. Analysts will have the opportunity to participate in all aspects of projects and be staffed on several assignments at one time. Due to the relatively small size of the professional staff, Analysts are able to assume integral roles on deal teams.

  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of Blackstone’s existing real estate portfolio in Japan.
  • Develop and execute on the business plan for each investment including leasing, development, capex, ESG strategy, financing, and exit.
  • Participate and provide strategic direction in quarterly board meetings with portfolio companies and JV partners.
  • Reviewing annual business plans and budgets and present them internally. Monitor and oversee revenue and cost drivers.
  • Identify and analyze trends in the industry and recommend asset management strategies and opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with portfolio companies / JV partners / operating partners and external asset managers to ensure maximum investment returns for the portfolio.
  • Help the senior team in building portfolio companies / JVs including hiring process of senior management.
  • Work closely with the regional and global asset management teams. The role will also entail working closely with other Blackstone internal stakeholders including portfolio management, finance, legal and compliance, institutional client services.
  • Proactively pass own market knowledge on to more junior colleagues.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate must have:

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience
  • Has strong interest in Real Estate or has proven track record asset managing real estate portfolios (across different asset classes)
  • Strong project management, financial and analytical skills
  • An entrepreneurial demeanor, results focused.
  • Ability to build strong internal and external relationships.
  • The candidate must have excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills in English and Japanese.
  • He/She will be team-oriented and collaborative and must possess strong integrity and professionalism.
  • Bachelor’s degree with honors from a top university or college
