* Responsible for developing category management and sourcing strategy for direct materials
* Handle end-to-end purchasing from supplier sourcing to contract negotiations

The company is a well-known publicly listed conglomerate with over 100,000 employees across 2,000 locations. Globally, they are known as an industry leader in building management services. The Japan office consists of over 1,000 employees.
Description
* Develop strategy for direct material category by assessing budgeting, spending, pricing, etc.
* Work collaboratively with suppliers and drive continuous improvement in areas of price, service, quality, etc.
* Source new suppliers by analyzing market competition, benchmarking, and on-boarding into company system
* Negotiate and maintain current contracts and supply conditions
* Manage performance of suppliers by organizing period business review of suppliers
* Align with business stakeholders in Japan and across APAC on category strategy and spend
Profile
* Minimum 5 years of direct purchasing experience
* Experience evaluating and negotiating with suppliers
* Experience working in a manufacturing company required
* Fluent Japanese skills required and business level English skills preferred
* Must be a resident of Japan and/or must hold a valid working visa for Japan
