Objectives of position
Reporting to the General Manager, this position will be responsible for the Controlling Function of the company, including, but not limited to, organizing and managing a local accounting and finance team, and setting up proper reporting system and processes to fulfill the local management needs and ensure compliance with Corporate Guidelines.
Main duties/Responsibilities/Competences
• Lead financial management efforts within the Japan Management team to drive growth and profitability across all Sika companies in Japan.
• Oversee forward-looking controlling processes, including annual budgeting and rolling forecast activities, ensuring transparency and adherence to IFRS and Corporate guidelines.
• Develop and implement financial strategies to achieve company goals, partnering closely with Executive Management to provide insights and analysis for strategic planning and business growth.
• Monitor and track key initiatives driving business growth and operational efficiencies, identifying and mitigating financial risks as necessary.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards, implementing and maintaining internal control systems and processes.
• Coordinate and establish processes and policies to optimize working capital and manage treasury activities in line with corporate guidelines.
• Evaluate, coordinate, and control Capex projects while managing local tax matters and associated risks.
• Provide interpretive financial guidance and analysis to support business growth, margin expansion, and cost reduction decisions.
• Drive continuous improvement in business processes, internal controls, and management reporting, fostering collaboration across all business functions.
• Stay updated on technological advancements to enhance efficiency and accuracy, effectively communicating with international teams to address issues and facilitate resolutions.
• Support the General Manager in addressing all business-related issues and actively coach and develop members to cultivate an agile, high-performing Finance team in Japan.

Direct report line to Japan General Manager, with dotted reporting line to Regional Financial Controller
資格Requirements
Experience: A minimum of 15 years of finance experience at a multinational company, with at least 5 years in global or inter-continental senior leadership positions. Experience in multinational manufacturing environments is highly preferred.
Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated strong business acumen and analytical ability to effectively drive business goals, coupled with strategic thinking and a hands-on approach. Proven ability in business partnering, with excellent communication skills across all organizational levels. Exceptional interpersonal skills to manage diverse stakeholders effectively.
Language Proficiency: Fluency in both English and Japanese is essential, including the ability to comprehend complex legal documents and contracts in Japanese.
Team Leadership: Proven track record of successfully leading and developing high-performing teams. Experience in team management and leadership is crucial for this role.
Education and Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accountancy/Business, with a CA/CPA qualification and over 15 years of relevant experience. A foundation from a professional accounting firm (e.g., Big 4) followed by commercial experience, preferably in high-growth sectors or startups, is highly desirable.
Technical Proficiency: Technical proficiency and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are required.
Stakeholder Management: Experience as a strong business partner with strategic stakeholder management skills is necessary for effective collaboration within the organization.
Change Management: Ability to drive change within the organization and implement strategic initiatives effectively.
