Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g. engineering, mathematics, economics, etc.) or equivalent practical experience.
  • Professional experience in a design, product management, analytics and/or operations role at a mobile apps company.
  • Ability to speak and write in Japanese and English fluently.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Advanced degree
  • 5 years of experience in a production or business operations role at a mobile game developer
  • Experience using SQL to retrieve data from large data warehouses, or excellent technical abilities and a strong desire to learn SQL
  • Experience working with data visualization tools to deliver results
  • Expert level knowledge in one or more of the following areas: free to play game monetization, user engagement strategies, user acquisition/reacquisition/retention, user segmentation methodologies, and/or app subscriptions

The Developer Business Growth team, also known as Growth Consulting, identifies business growth opportunities in strategic partners’ products and delivers strategic consultations enabling developers to identify optimum strategies to capitalize on the opportunities. We accomplish this via extended collaboration with developers in areas such as monetization, user acquisition/re-engagement, game economies, subscriptions, and more. Responsibilities

  • Analyze game's performance to identify areas for optimization and growth
  • Create and deliver presentations which communicate growth opportunities to product, analytics and executive leadership
  • Provide thought leadership through the creation and delivery of original strategy consulting materials enabling optimal capitalization on growth opportunities
  • Partner with developers during extended consulting engagements to assist with designing, executing, iterating and quantifying the impact of product improvements
  • Identify and unlock additional avenues of developer growth by partnering with internal cross-functional Google Play and Google teams
