About the job
The AP Consulting Technology Practice is looking for a Consulting Manager to lead our technology consulting team in Japan and work closely with consulting leaders and regional delivery teams across Asia Pacific. You’ll help scale our delivery capability, deploy the right expertise to customer engagements and support high-quality outcomes across complex technology programs.
You’ll guide delivery across solution architecture, SAS Decisioning, SAS Data Engineering, SAS Platform & Solutions, DevOps and the non-SAS technologies that support our solutions. You’ll also build team capability, strengthen partner-enabled delivery and contribute to services growth, revenue and margin objectives.
As a Consulting Manager, you will:
- Lead the Japan technology consulting team, translating AP Consulting strategy into clear priorities, capability plans and practical execution.
- Guide complex technology programs by aligning consultant assignments, capacity, technical governance, architecture decisions and project priorities.
- Act as a technical escalation point, bringing together consultants, subject matter experts, partners and leaders to resolve delivery roadblocks.
- Build a scalable delivery model using internal and partner resources, supported by capacity planning, demand forecasting and clear skills visibility.
- Partner with Sales, Business Development, Customer Advisory, country consulting leaders and project teams on solution positioning, estimation, pre-sales activity and customer outcomes.
- Manage portfolio risks, dependencies, capability gaps and delivery constraints while supporting quality, customer satisfaction, utilization and planned margins.
- Coach and develop consultants through structured development plans, cross-skilling, knowledge sharing and reusable delivery assets.

Required qualifications
- Experience leading technology consulting or professional services teams in Japan, with regional or global collaboration.
- Hands-on experience as a Solution Architect or Technical Architect on large, complex customer programs, including multi-workstream delivery.
- Experience delivering enterprise technology solutions involving solution architecture, data engineering, platforms, decisioning, DevOps or related components.
- Experience with portfolio delivery, capacity planning, resource deployment, risk management and partner-assisted delivery models.
- Ability to guide technical decisions, remove delivery roadblocks and communicate clearly with customers, consultants and senior stakeholders.
- Native-level Japanese and business-level English, with strong presentation, facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills.
- An equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with SAS Decisioning, SAS Data Engineering, SAS Platform & Solutions or SAS delivery environments.
- Experience in risk, compliance or fraud technology solutions.
- Experience growing services signings or supporting business development, estimation and pre-sales engagements.
- Experience creating reusable delivery methods, architecture standards, accelerators or quality checkpoints.
