(Janssen) Epidemiology Scientist / Analyst, R&D Global Epidemiology (Contractor)

The Epidemiology APAC team is a division of Global Epidemiology, Office of Chief Medical Officer, Johnson & Johnson. The Epidemiology APAC team exists to be experts in generating, leveraging, and promoting the use of high-quality Real-World Evidence for various stakeholders. The team shows up daily determined to maximize Real-World Evidence's utility to achieve regulatory and business priorities. The team is recruiting an Epidemiology Scientist / Analyst in Japan, depending on the candidate's expertise and experience.
The Epidemiology Scientist/ Analyst will work under the supervision of senior members of the Epidemiology APAC team, the research leader in academia in multiple therapeutic areas in Japan. The role will involve participation in various task forces in addressing issues raised by the clinical teams/regulatory agencies by providing epidemiology and statistical consultation and support. The role will be expected to keep current with the Japanese real-world databases such as MDV and JMDC and communicate with the cross functions or stakeholders supporting the team's projects.
The primary responsibilities will be:
- to maintain and support the communication with real-world database holders or researchers in Japan
- to perform statistical analyses using SAS or R.
- to develop quality control checks for programs or output.
- to develop the statistical analysis plan and maintain programming documentation as appropriate.
- to participate in the development and review of study-specific procedures
- to support the communications with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the final high-quality deliverables• At least a master's degree or two years completed in a PhD graduate program in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or Public Health is required.
• Proficiency in SAS programming or other statistical software (such as R) is required.
• Programming and analyzing experience in large real-world databases are highly preferred.
• Pharmaceutical industry experience is preferred.
• Verbal and written communication skills in Japanese and English (Reading, writing, and speaking) are essential for success in this role.
• Experience in epidemiology research preferred.
Contract Time:Approximately 6months
