Senior Microsoft Data Engineer

Location (UK Based / Opportunity for Remote working)

Your role

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer with a proven history in working on Microsoft enterprise scale solutions.

Your role will involve.

- Assuring that data is cleansed, mapped, transformed, and otherwise optimised for storage and use according to business

and technical requirements

- Developing and maintaining innovative Azure solutions

- Translating business requirements into technical specifications including transformations, data lakes, databases, data

warehouses and data models.

- Collaborating and coordinating with multiple departments, stakeholders, partners, and external vendors

- Can explain complex data concepts to non-technical audience

- Puts in place techniques and designs that allow query performance, referential integrity, quality and control on data at all levels

Your experience

Knowledge/Experience

- Expert knowledge of SQL/T-SQL, SQL Server, Azure SQL

- Expert knowledge of Big Data Architecture using Lakehouse with best practices

- Expert knowledge of ETL using Azure Data Factory/Azure Synapse/Azure Databricks (Spark, Spark SQL & Python) /SSIS/Azure Data Lake

- Power BI (Visualisations, Filters, Slicing DAX required) / SSRS

- Excellent English written and verbal skills

- Must have been continuously resident in the UK for the past 5 years to qualify for appropriate Security Clearances

Desirable

- Use of Azure DevOps framework

- Knowledge and experience of Azure Datamarts

- Experience with Azure CosmosDB

- Performance Tuning

- Data Science / predictive data modelling would be desired (experience in Python, R)
