Depositary Receipt Relationship Sales Manager – Associate

J.P. Morgan created the very first American Depositary Receipt (ADR) in 1927 for Selfridges Stores. Today, J.P. Morgan has a leading market position managing some of the largest Depositary Receipts programs globally and you’ll help clients realize their highest potential in terms of ADR liquidity and diversification of ADR shareholder base.

As a Relationship Sales Manager within the Depositary Receipts (DR) Business Tokyo team, you will be expected to maintain and build out relations with clients and prospects, retain existing and win new business, and serve as the primary contact for clients on the day-to-day management of their Depositary Receipts programs.

Job responsibilities

  • Prepare business proposals together with pricing team for prospects and existing clients
  • Prepare annual account plans and execute on agreed action points
  • Co-ordinate with internal teams including transactions, operations and client service to ensure seamless execution of corporate actions
  • Identify opportunities where DR business can add value by providing additional guidance to clients and prospects with the help of the DR client advisory team
  • Maintain necessary network of key market intermediaries involved in the DR listing process including stock exchanges, law firms, investment banks, and consultants
  • Promote franchise’s capabilities to identify additional services to new and existing clients
  • Organize local events and training sessions for clients and prospects

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Proficient in English and Japanese
  • Finance or business degree
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Detail- and results oriented
  • Able to think creatively
  • Able to perform under pressure
  • Flexible and willing to adjust to meet changing demands
  • Able to collaborate across different teams and regions
  • A team player

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Previous Sales and Relationship Management experience a plus
  • knowledge of another language
  • Understanding of how capital/equity markets function specifically the IPO process and how corporate actions impact securities
  • Existing network of contacts at corporate level especially in treasury, capital markets and/or DR functions
