Derivative Clearing Operations (DCO) team plays an important part to support the business that provides investors and hedgers access to exchange traded listed derivatives throughout the world and acts solely as the client’s agent on brokerage transactions, and never as principal.

As a Derivative Clearing Operations - Analyst within Corporate Investment Banking, you will be responsible for providing valuable post-transaction services to both internal and external clients as well as regulatory related works.

DCO team has two key functions: 1) Client Services and 2) Exchange Interface. Client Services function is responsible for providing valuable post-transaction services to both internal and external clients mainly located in Japan on behalf of overseas entities in the UK and US. Exchange Interface function manage clearing of listed derivatives trades executed at OSE/TFX and preparation of regulatory reporting. Both functions work closely with front office in Japan as well as regional and global DCO organization to ensure the best in class client service and seamless clearing is maintained with local exchange.

Job responsibilities


• Become the point of contact for the client to handle queries related to transaction and market and address to the appropriate internal team.
• Ensure accurate post trade reports and statements are delivered in timely manner.
• Control point to ensure the exchange and the clearing house are in line.
• Oversight the end-to-end functions outside of the location to ensure clients are served in first-class manner.
• Monitor settlement with local exchanges, clearing house and external clients.
• Create/Submit Legal Ledger and Regulatory report following the local rules.
• Drive projects to innovate the current procedure/system structure to achieve higher efficiency and control.
• Act as the first line of defense to ensure that the trades follow the market policies and the regulatory rules.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills


• Team worker with strong communication skills to manage stakeholder’s expectation and flexible mindset to changes.
• Self-starter and ability to learn quickly/independently.
• Client service skills, including inter-personal skill and capturing of clients’ requirements and delivery of solutions.
• Strong verbal and written bilingual (Japanese and English) communication, including explanation skills/negotiation skills.
• Strong and inclusive leadership and ability to influence others to deliver the result.
• Change management mindset and track record to deliver positive change in the end-to-end such as higher efficiency or stronger control.
• Ability to make judgement independently based on the firm’s policy for ad-hoc queries.
• Project management and leadership experience will be an advantage.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills


• Experience in investment banking operations role is preferable
• Experience with Futures and Options (F&O) product in any capacity is preferable
• Strong PC Skills (Excel, Word) essential, Digital Tools (RPA/Alteryx) preferred
