The opportunity
Join our Cloud Engineering team as a Kafka Architect, where you will be responsible for designing and developing distributed, high-volume, low-latency applications that provide high-availability and performance. You will be working with Kafka & AWS Cloud Technology on projects for our global customers.

Your key responsibilities

  • Architecting Cloud Solutions: Utilize your proficiency in Kafka, Event Management and Streaming services to design scalable, resilient, and cost-effective cloud solutions tailored to the unique requirements of each project.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and leadership to development teams, ensuring adherence to best practices, architectural principles, and industry standards throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Solution Design and Documentation: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, analyse business needs, and translate them into comprehensive solution designs and architectural documentation. Provide end-to-end Kafka best practices, manage and review data inputs, outputs, and high-speed querying.
  • Cloud Migration and Optimization: Drive the migration of existing applications to the cloud, optimizing performance, scalability, and cost efficiency through effective architectural design and implementation.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of emerging cloud technologies, industry trends, and best practices, actively contributing to the evolution and enhancement of our cloud architecture frameworks and methodologies. Conduct performance tuning, troubleshooting, and Kafka deployments in a variety of hosting environments.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including developers, testers, and project managers to ensure seamless integration and delivery of cloud-based solutions. Coordinate with different teams to ensure consistent integrations across applications.

  • Design and develop a GenAI-infused framework tailored for projects.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • 12+ years of experience with a strong focus on development practices.
  • 5+ years of hands-on development experience with event driven architecture-based implementation.
  • Extensive experience and exposure to AWS cloud services, including AWS MSK or Confluent Cloud, .
  • Working experience with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, particularly in AWS environments, to deploy high performance Kafka clusters.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services and infrastructure management.
  • Defining change management strategies aligned with business drivers and strategic objectives, organizational behaviours, and processes.
  • Stakeholder management expertise, operating at a senior management/executive level.
  • Tailoring architectural approaches based on industry standards, organizational maturity, and transition pace.
  • Evaluating and enhancing business processes and change management practices.

Preferred Skills

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate / Professional
  • Experience in additional messaging systems such as Rabbit MQ, Active MQ, Kinesis, etc.
  • Proficiency in related big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark.
  • Knowledge of Kafka ecosystem, Cloudera, and Hortonworks.
  • Experience on Kubernetes and Docker will be a plus.
  • Experience working on CMMI / Agile / SAFE methodologies, ensuring alignment with development processes.
