Director, TMT&Healthcare Sector Coverage

The role requires an experienced individual who can work with little or no supervision, and will be responsible for sector client coverage in the TMT&Healthcare sectors in Japan, leading debt financings for our clients, and coordinating cross-buy efforts for ING’s entire wholesale banking suite of products. Relationships and experience in working with clients in the TMT and/or healthcare sectors, origination and structuring experience, a good credit grounding, and a knowledge of other wholesale banking products is required. Given the seniority of the role, the individual would be expected to have the capability and experience to be deal team leader, coordinating with other product teams and contributing effectively to the strategy for building and growing the business with clients in Japan.

Key Responsibilities

  • The successful candidate is expected to drive origination of new business with clients, manage ongoing client relationships, lead the execution of new deals including financings, generate cross-buy opportunities and support the monitoring of existing portfolio.
  • The work envisaged encompasses formulating client/sector strategy, onboarding of clients, leading origination efforts, leading deal structuring, credit analysis, taking a leadership role and guiding deal team members, leading internal approval processes and legal documentation on transactions, and coordinating with relevant product teams to deliver multi-product solutions to clients to achieve cross-buy and return objectives.
  • Identification, development, and maintenance of close relationships with clients as primary contact. Developing presentation material and pitches to clients leading to new mandates.
  • Helping achieve team KPIs including economic income, ESG, cross-buy (in financial markets, transaction services and capital markets & advisory) and return targets and other financial/non-financial KPIs.
  • Coaching and guiding junior team members.
  • Identifying and monitoring developments and opportunities within the TMT/healthcare sector(s). Continuously build knowledge on the sector, competitors, products, and macroeconomic trends/ issues and contribute to ING strategic initiatives.
