Location: Carrapateena, South Australia (60-minute flight from Adelaide / 30-minute flight from Port Augusta)
Roster: 8 days on; 6 days off, on site at Carrapateena
Reporting to: Electrical Supervisor

About The Role:

The role of the Electrical Technician (maintenance execution) is to be responsible for the safe, efficient and cost-effective repair and maintenance of fixed plant and equipment.

Key responsibilities include executing maintenance and shutdown plans for all fixed surface and underground electrical equipment on site, core attributes of this role include;

• Providing effective, directive leadership in shutdowns and adhere to deadlines
• Assist planning team to optimise planned maintenance and minimise unplanned maintenance
• Ensure contractors working on site are compliant with site safety and equipment policies.
• Assist in providing improvement for systems and processes to maximise equipment reliability
• Maintain, overhaul, and change out electrical components on, Conveyors, Fixed plant equipment,
LV/HV apparatus, general lighting and power, ďoƌĞ pumps… etc.
• Undertake shift work (roster basis) surface and underground
• Obtaining the required plant / equipment / site tickets to performing duties in the plant.
• Assist in developing maintenance procedures, policies, standard, work instructions, SOPs.
• Assist in implementing maintenance strategies.
• Being involved in resolving plant reliability issues.
• Demonstrate a high level of personal safety commitment by modelling the desired behaviours.

About You:

You will ideally possess the following qualifications, skills and behaviours:

• Licensed Electrical trade
• Electrical trade background within a heavy industrial, underground mining resources or minerals processing environment
• Safety orientated with sound OH&S knowledge
• Proven experience assessing equipment failures
• Achieve results in limited time frames (decision maker)
• Industrial processing within a continuous operation
• High level computer skills in Microsoft suite
• Project and Time management focus
• Gathers and exchanges information and ideas
• Develop trust and confidence within a team environment
• Builds and maintains networks and relationships
• Manages difficulties to achieve positive outcomes
• Mentor Apprentices to develop their skills
• Equipment failure analysis and ‘Root Cause Analysis’
• Development of technical documents
• Exposure to equipment circuits and systems such as
• HV/LV supply and reticulation system maintenance
• HV/LV motor maintenance
• HV Switching
• Programmable Logic Controllers
• Basic instrumentation – Pressure, flow, temperature etc.
• PLC/Automation system maintenance
