TEAMArene's goal is to open vehicle programming to everyone by simplifying vehicle software development and increasing deployment frequency without compromising safety and security. This will create a whole new market of vehicle application developers who, through software, integrate a vehicle into our daily lives in novel ways. Arene aims to improve how vehicles are designed and developed, and we're working closely with Toyota to realize this goal in its next-generation vehicles.
Next Gen e-Platform team proposes next-generation E/E architecture and next-generation development strategy to Toyota Motor Company from software development perspective to maximize the user value of vehicle and software development efficiency. You will report to the engineering lead. This role is hybrid with 3 days in the office.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FORYou will create next-generation E/E architecture covering all TMC's vehicle variants including BEV and non BEV and creating next-generation development strategy including development process, environment and tools for vehicle software development. Skills and knowledge in modern software development and solid experiences in developing embedded systems are the essential prerequisite.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collect requirements and create proposals for next-generation E/E architecture and development strategy
  • Benchmark competitor and investigate the technical trend of relevant technology area
  • Define architecture driver, design logical architecture and physical architecture and evaluate the architecture for next-generation E/E architecture
  • Create next-generation development strategy including development process, environment and tools
  • Develop proof-of-concept system for feasibility study of new technology

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10+ years experience with automotive platform software development
  • Experience with QNX, AGL, Android Automotive etc. and ideally multi-OS hypervisor-based system
  • Expertise on vehicle E/E architecture
  • Knowledge on modern software development process and tools (DevOps and MLOps etc.)
  • Knowledge on automotive SW stack (Autosar AP/CP etc.)
  • Knowledge on communication protocols (CAN, Ether, PCIe, SOME/IP, DDS, ROS etc.)
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Working proficiency in verbal and written English
  • Experience explaining technical concepts through documents and reviews

NICE TO HAVES:

  • Develop OS or device driver
  • Develop safety critical/hard real time applications
  • Familiarity with automotive or embedded processor architectures (ARM/x86)
  • Vehicle software standards such as AUTOSAR, MISRA, CERT, ISO 21434 and ISO 26262 standard for automotive functional safety
  • Familiarity with SoC architecture and IP modules (CPU, GPU, DSP, CODEC, ISP, DNN hardware accelerator, DMAC, etc)
  • Knowledge on service oriented architecture (SOA)
  • Japanese language skill
