EIFJ TOKYO, TOKYO’S FRENCH-JAPANESE INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL
At the French-Japanese International School of Tokyo, we educate students to become creative and ethical citizens through an official, comprehensive & bilingual IB & French Ministry accreditation candidate curriculum in classes of excellence.

The French-Japanese International School of Tokyo (established in 2019), is a primary (2019), secondary school (2022), and a French International nursery licensed by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government (enabling scholarships), with a total capacity of 450 places. We are also candidate for the French Ministry & IB accreditations, as well as for a partnership with Lycee Français.
Remaining open during holidays, promoting an education of excellence in classes with an unequaled teachers-students ratio, our team of certified teachers offers the following programs:

REQUIREMENTS
In view of EIFJ Tokyo being candidate for French Ministry & IB accreditations, the candidate must hold teaching certification such as TEFL, TESOL etc./license with proven records of teaching students aged 3 to 6, and / or 6 to 11, or have a master-level degree with proven records of teaching. An experience with the IB guidelines is a plus. The applicant must have a valid work visa allowing full or part time work (dependent visa, working holiday visa, specialist visa, etc.). Visas are sponsored under certain conditions.
MISSION
The teacher takes responsibility of a preschool or elementary class of about 10 to 15 students with an experienced assistant (in partnership with the teacher in French for half of the week to coordinate the French Ministry / IB program), and/or after-school activities' enrollees for ESL classes on a regular basis. In case of primary school teaching, the teacher complies with procedures set out by the school rules, organizes and delivers the French curriculum and the International Baccalaureate, plans the “cahier-journal” on Edumoov or in any developer of digital educational tool, preparing, makes the materials necessary, provides effective supervision of students during the teaching process, during activities within the school building or during school excursions, implements school policies relating to the documentation of teaching, student records of achievement and reporting to parents.
WORKING TIME
From 15 to 29.5 hours per week, upon the teacher’s choice, or full-time of 40 hours, including possibly afterschool activities’ duties. Japanese national holidays, plus three weeks annual closure of the school per year. Three to five weeks paid leave per year. Additional days of leave are allocated according to the number of years of work in the school, as well as days of sick leave or for exceptional family reasons.
NATURE AND DURATION OF THE CONTRACT
Fixed-term contract of one or two years renewable, according to Japanese law. A notice of resignation is possible at least six months in advance so that the well-being of the students is preserved throughout the academic year, and that the school administration can launch a recruitment campaign on time for the next.
SALARY
Depending on qualifications, experience, and length of annual contract (less than 30 hours per week, or up to 40 hours, 10 or 12 month work), from 2,000 yen to 3,000 yen per hour (200 to 450,000 yen per month). Transportation costs are covered, paid leave, and language courses are offered (French, English, Japanese etc.). For specific candidates, a bonus of 200,000 yen if offered in the end of a collaboration as contract fulfilment allowance.

Weekly Japanese and French lessons offered by certified teachers. Training provided for the compliance with the French Ministry Curriculum. Sponsorship of work visa.
