Department Overview

You will be responsible for addressing various human resources and organizational management challenges that arise as our global business expands. Your mission is to drive organizational growth by developing HR strategies and designing/operating systems, while thinking outside the box and accurately capturing both external industry trends and internal needs.

Cultivating multiple perspectives
- Working in the headquarters HR department of the Rakuten Group-a company with diverse businesses forming the "Rakuten Ecosystem" and employees from various backgrounds-will allow you to develop a multi-faceted perspective through the planning and operation of various HR initiatives.
- Beyond following existing procedures, you will play a role in promoting operational improvements from a multi-faceted viewpoint. You will proactively plan and execute initiatives within a large-scale organization, directly contributing to the development of the entire Rakuten Group.

- You will work in a dynamic environment where you can collaborate with HR departments of overseas group companies, engaging a wide range of stakeholders to drive projects that extend beyond Japan.
Various Career Paths
- Upon joining, you will be assigned to the Group Human Resources Supervisory Department within Rakuten’s corporate function, where you will be responsible for company-wide HR planning. The department is composed of teams covering various functions, such as Payroll, Training, Recruitment, and HRBP. Through various projects, you will have frequent communication with other teams and opportunities to learn about their functions. It is also possible to build a diverse HR career within the department.

Position Details

1. Planning, Implementation, and Administration of Executive HR Policies
- Design and manage performance evaluation and compensation frameworks for Board Directors and Executive Officers, including global executives.
- Draft, revise, and execute internal policies and regulations pertaining to Executive Officers.
2. Executive Appointment, Dismissal, and Support
- Manage operational procedures for the appointment of new executives and the execution of their service agreements.
- Plan and facilitate training and development programs for executives.
3. Corporate Governance Compliance
- Prepare proposals for the General Shareholders Meeting, draft disclosure documents (such as the Notice of Convocation), and provide operational support for the meeting.
- Provide administrative and operational support for the Compensation Committee.
*Initially, you will focus primarily on the executive HR domain. In the future, there will be opportunities to expand your scope to broader HR projects, including the planning and implementation of HR policies for the entire organization.

Work Environment

Team Overview
You will join the HR Planning Department, a diverse team of approximately 60 members in their 20s to 40s, representing a wide variety of professional backgrounds.
The department consists of several specialized groups, allowing for a collaborative approach to complex HR challenges:
HR Planning Group, Stock Option Group, Business Process Management Group, Executive HR Group (this position), HRIS Planning and Design Section.
The role involves frequent interaction with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. Given our frequent collaboration with overseas entities, this position offers dynamic and truly global business opportunities.

Mandatory Qualifications:

- Approximately 3 years of experience in HR planning or HR operations at an operating company, OR experience in project management/execution at a consulting firm.
- Proven experience communicating in a professional English environment (e.g., using English for daily business correspondence, report writing, or experience studying abroad).
