We are seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to join a leading semiconductor manufacturing project in Japan. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of large-scale industrial equipment, ensuring optimal system performance and minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform on-site installation, servicing, modification, and repair of semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
- Conduct diagnostics, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and system repairs.
- Maintain accurate service records and technical reports.
- Coordinate with team members, supervisors, and customers to minimize equipment downtime.
- Order, replace, and install equipment parts as needed.
- Respond to emergency service calls and work flexible shifts, including weekends when required.
- Provide operational and maintenance training to customer technicians.
- Execute equipment upgrades and modifications as necessary.
- Stay updated on tools and equipment through training, manuals, and technical resources.
- Follow standard procedures to analyze issues and implement effective solutions
- Ensure proper use, maintenance, and security of company assets (e.g., tools, vehicles)
- Maintain professional conduct and compliance with on-site standards and policies.
- Communicate effectively with customers to understand needs and resolve issues.
- Build strong working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate in a team-oriented environment to ensure high customer satisfaction.
- Adhere strictly to workplace safety standards and practices.
- Handle engineering change requests (ECO) efficiently and maintain composure under pressure.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Maintain confidentiality of company and customer information.
Requirements
Essential Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
- Basic understanding of the semiconductor industry.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, mechanical diagrams, and electrical schematics.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions in English accurately and consistently.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate effectively.
- Willingness to work overtime and flexible schedules when required.
- High level of professionalism, reliability, and adaptability.
- Cleanroom training and basic industry safety knowledge (preferred or to be acquired).
- Japanese N2 or N3 level (Must), English (intermediate-business level).
Desired Skills/Qualifications:
- Knowledge of gas systems used in semiconductor processes is a plus.
