About the Role
Our client requires a local film fixer and translator to assist with a two-day shoot in Kyoto, Japan. This project is part of a larger production split between Kyoto and Taipei, Taiwan. The budget for the Kyoto portion is SGD 15,000, and the client will provide the location and talents. The shoot dates are tentatively scheduled for June 13th and 14th.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a liaison between the production team and local crew/vendors in Kyoto
- Assist with securing local crew members, including a gaffer, grip, hair/makeup/wardrobe personnel, sound technician, and necessary equipment rentals
- Facilitate communication and translation between the production team and local crew/talents during the shoot
- Coordinate logistics, such as transportation, accommodation (if needed), and catering for the local crew
- Conduct gear checks and ensure all necessary equipment is in place before the shoot
Requirements
- Excellent command of English and Japanese (both written and spoken)
- Proven experience as a film fixer and translator in the Kyoto region
- Extensive knowledge of the local film industry and resources
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Familiarity with film production processes and terminology
