Job Title: Finance Business Partner
Location: Japan (Tokyo)
Our Client
Our client is one of the world's top three global freight forwarders, with a strong and well-established presence in Japan. Through a joint venture with a leading Japanese trucking and warehousing company, they have built a uniquely scaled and integrated logistics platform, combining global reach with deep local market capability. Today, they are recognised as the largest foreign contract logistics provider in Japan.
The company's DNA is inherently global, but with a very strong Japanese foundation. They place a high value on teamwork, trust, and long-term loyalty, creating a collaborative environment that blends international best practice with local stability and partnership.
Position Overview
The Finance Business Partner (BP) acts as a strategic advisor within the Finance / Controlling function, bridging financial insight with operational decision-making.
This role is suited to a commercially minded finance professional—ideally CPA-qualified—with strong FP&A or controlling experience, and a solid understanding of the logistics or transportation industry.
Working closely with senior stakeholders, the Finance BP will drive business performance, support strategic growth initiatives, and strengthen financial governance across the organization. Experience in company integration or post-merger environments would be highly advantageous, given the evolving structure of the business.
From a personal profile perspective, we are seeking a strong team player who can apply a rigorous, control-oriented CPA mindset when required, while remaining flexible and pragmatic in navigating different business situations and stakeholder needs.
