Operations Manager – GDS ES Finance
The opportunity
The GDS ES Finance Operations Manager is responsible for activities that drive improved business operations. On this role you will work closely with GDS ES Finance leadership and the GDS Operations Teams.
This role is responsible for creating, developing, and maintaining operational environment enabling business growth in ES Finance locations, including business relationships with key ES Finance stakeholders, driving operational improvement initiatives, and assisting with execution of the ES Finance’s talent strategy. Critical to this role is building relationships with people at all levels and across many functions including Finance, Talent and GDS Operations.
Your key responsibilities
- With a strong understanding of the ES Finance’s strategy and goals, work with leaders to execute the strategy. The ability to break a strategy down into achievable activities and deliverables will be important, as will teamwork, communication and driving outcomes.
- Collaborate with the GDS Talent team to oversee and help execute talent-related operational matters including workforce management, competency gap identification, recruitment and sourcing strategies, retention strategies, performance management, counselling structures and other ad-hoc activities.
- Close oversight of the operating statement and budgets, including review and approval of local expenses, education and team integration budgets as well as ensuring client billing and collections are made in a timely manner, etc.
- Support ES Finance global planning and forecasting processes.
- Support implementation of global ES Finance Leadership initiatives and operational changes ensuring unique ES Finance business needs are properly represented and addressed.
- Team with Learning and Development to ensure ES Finance induction and ongoing Finance learnings are deployed in a timely manner with appropriate participation of ES Finance team members. Support trainings through managing training logistics, liaising with trainers and delivering modules as appropriate.
- Coordination of ES Finance internal projects and initiatives, flagging risks and issues to ES Finance leadership
- Support ES Finance Team members on operational and Talent matters.
- Support the location strategy and perform the above responsibilities by coordinating across all GDS ES Finance Locations
Skills and attributes for success

- Strong understanding of organization wide systems and processes. In addition, the ability to manage change in a complex environment.
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Outstanding spoken and written English
- Minimum 7 years of relevant progressive experience leading diversified teams from a large, multi-national organization
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Graduate and/or professional certification in a business related subject matter
