Job summary

To assume the functions of Head of RPC Japan, responsible for the management of the Risk Management Division locally, responsible of the follow-up, monitoring and reporting of all the counterparty, market, and operational risks borne by CA-CIB Japan in all its activities.

To build and maintain a good working relationship with business lines, coverage bankers and Senior Country Officer to anticipate risks, to manage business in a sound manner, and to disseminate the Risk culture of CA-CIB.

To proactively manage the portfolio with on-going monitoring and reporting of any risk event on a counterparty or an industry, in order to recommend/take both pre-emptive and follow-up actions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategy and Business Planning

To act as the unique RPC representative in Japan vis-à-vis the management and the other departments of the unit, as well as vis-à-vis third parties, for maintaining adequate Human Resources, for participating to the BCP and for other daily administrative matters; to attend various committees relevant to its Risk and Permanent Control function, including but not limited to, Market Risk Committee, Business Committee, Credit Risk Committee, Internal Control Committee, Risk Anomalies Committee, ALM Committee and etc.

To manage, supervise and coordinate all the local RPC functions (SCS, FSP, CMR, MAM, MRO) as defined in the respective Job Descriptions of these functions; to review their reports and make necessary improvements; to attend their meetings; to adequately review & update local policies & procedures under RPC responsibilities.

To maintain a good quality of the portfolio through:

- To lead Risk portfolio reviews & participate in CSP reviews for risk appetite defining

- Proactively manage the portfolio with on-going monitoring, reporting of counterparty or industrial sector risk events with pre-emptive &/or follow-up actions.

- To alert the local management and CRO APAC about any possible degradation of risks in the Country

- To maintain integrity of risk data and parameters and monitoring the annual review cycle of the counterparties and guarantors of the Country and their rating process through monthly reporting to CRO APAC and monthly alerts to the local Management.
- Monitoring of Market Risks and of respect of limits imposed on traders.

To coordinate and supervise the implementation in Japan of all CA-CIB projects (e.g. Basle IV, FRTB, evolution of Risk systems infrastructure, evolution of Risk methodologies and processes);

Minimal education level

Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent

Academic qualification / Speciality

University degree or equivalent. Master’s degree or equivalent is desirable.

Level of minimal experience

11 years and more

Experience

At least 10–15 years of investment banking experience, with strong experience in Risk Management. Experience across investment banking products, including ECM and derivatives, is desirable.
