As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Infrastructure Platforms, Electronics Trading Services, you apply deep expertise in facilities engineering, physical infrastructure design, and implementation management within highly specialized electronic trading environments. You will support the strategic design and governance of space and power across colocation sites, ensuring adherence to enterprise standards and ETS-specific requirements. In this role, you will contribute to the execution of the ETS global Facilities Program, driving consistency and operational excellence across the colocation footprint while managing ongoing facilities changes and maintenance activities. You will also coordinate server and network implementation activities, working closely with internal platform teams and third-party vendors to deliver seamless infrastructure changes, ensuring proper validation, customer acceptance, and end-to-end execution.
Job responsibilities
- Applies facilities engineering expertise to support startup programs, site assessments, and remediation activities across multiple locations
- Drives delivery of facilities-related projects by translating requirements into build artifacts such as floor plans, rack elevations, and cabling designs
- Works with cross-functional teams to implement infrastructure changes aligned with firm-wide and ETS-specific standards
- Executes solutions to ensure resiliency and redundancy across physical infrastructure including power, cabling, and device placement
- Provides subject matter expertise to support facilities strategy, standards development, and onboarding to new tools and systems
- Uses enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to accelerate infrastructure analysis and design documentation, validating outputs and handling operational data according to sensitivity and security requirements.
- Manages capacity planning across cage, rack, power, and cabling infrastructure to ensure optimal utilization
- Oversees asset lifecycle management including tracking, system updates, tagging, and reconciliation activities
- Leads change management processes including documentation, approvals, execution oversight, and stakeholder coordination
- Coordinates logistics for equipment, cabling, and vendor engagement to support infrastructure delivery and operations
- Monitors system performance and addresses gaps identified through tools, testing, and site assessments
- Ensures compliance with security, documentation, and operational standards while maintaining alignment with enterprise facilities teams
- Applies reuse-first, AI-assisted practices within delivery and automation routines to identify recurring issues and validate remediation options, ensuring changes are traceable/auditable and aligned to resiliency and security expectations.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, or a related discipline
- Minimum 10 years of experience specializing in facilities design and implementation
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an IT role within a Commercial or Investment Bank
- Proven experience in deployment of systems, networking, and physical infrastructure including space, power, and cabling
- Working knowledge of host and networking systems with strong technical fundamentals
- Demonstrated expertise in facilities engineering within complex, high-availability environments
- Demonstrated experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to support infrastructure engineering workflows with strong validation habits and awareness of data sensitivity
- Ability to review and validate AI-assisted recommendations before implementation, escalating when uncertain and ensuring outcomes align to resiliency, security, and auditability expectations
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Confident decision-maker with clear, timely communication and strong follow-up discipline
- Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and facilitation skills
- Flexible, hands-on approach with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-pressure, client-focused environment
