Key Responsibilities – Sales and Relationship Management

  • Develop sales support and marketing plan for all Issuer Services products to source new business opportunities
  • Understand all Issuer Services product offerings and pitching process in detail
  • Assume full responsibility for individual business  target from Japan based clients
  • Ensure all required documents  and approvals are in place to facilitate smooth deal execution for new clients
  • Own and manage all aspects of depositary receipt relationship for Japan corporate clients, including:
    • Develop strong relationship with clients with emphasis on key decision makers
    • Analyze and understand clients’ revenue profile; develop a client plan for client retention and identify opportunities for portfolio monetization
    • Negotiate commercial terms with clients
  • Work with NY & HK Team to fulfil clients' inquiries during local time zone
  • Build up strong relationship with BCMA partners, legal, compliance and Issuer Services teams in Japan, HK and New York.
  • Establish strong relationships with deal influencers in Japan such as third party brokers, law firms, investor relations advisors, local stock exchange representatives and other market professionals
  • Perform Cross-sales for other Citi products and identify and support opportunities for cross sell of Issuer Services business from internal partners
  • Learn and understand Japanese regulatory and compliance environment in relation to the Depositary Receipts and Agency & Trust businesses and ensure that you perform your role within the required control parameters at all times
  • Create Japan database of marketing collateral to allow efficient and effective pitching to clients and prospects
  • Maintain a strong control environment on all aspects and avoid franchise risks with early escalation of identified issues


  • Strong marketing  and client management experience
  • Solid understanding of capital markets or Banking products
  • Experience in banking or capital markets would be a distinct advantage
  • Experience in being part of a collaborative team as well as being an Individual Contributor


  • Highly motivated self-starter, resourceful, able to learn quickly and perform well under stressful conditions
  • Experience in building and maintaining relationships
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent PC skills with specific emphasis on presentation and written client materials.
  • Fluent English and Japanese speaker
  • Confident and highly capable client management skills are a must.
