Japan Philanthropy team is seeking a Sr.Specialist for strategic grant operations and strategic relations to scale the impact for the communities. Salesforce is a fast paced, growing company. This position will support and maintain existing philanthropic programs, along with helping to build sustainability and scalability to keep pace with the company expansion.
This position is based in Tokyo, and has a suggested minimum of 3 years of experience in a corporate social responsibility or similar setting.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Grant Management

  • Grants Operations

    • Own end-to-end grant lifecycle operations for Japan Strategic grants

    • Manage annual budget effectively including tracking grant pipeline, managing forecast, and processing payments in a timely and compliant manner

    • Partner with Japan finance, legal, and ethics teams to ensure compliance with the corporate regulations

    • Monitor and audit Strategic grant portfolio, creating performance indicators and measuring success

    • Maintain files, reports, and other necessary documents for compliance and audit purposes

    • Support corporate donation operations when required

  • Grant Pipeline & Strategic Alignment

    • Create a systematic, process-driven approach to partner outreach and relationship management

    • In partnership with global Philanthropy colleagues across the company, develop a strong pipeline of strategically-aligned grantees and build dockets that can be moved forward for approval

    • Actively create opportunities for partnership, collaboration, and engagement with grantees in partnership with Japan Employee Impact colleagues


Strategic Relations/Community Engagement

  • Pledge1%

    • Support Pledge 1% contact in Japan(NPO Support Center) to increase adoption of Pledge 1% within Japan Salesforce ecosystem

    • Maintain and localize the latest Pledge1% content aligned with global Philanthropy team and Pledge1%.org

  • Marketing and Events

    • Plan and post 1-1-1 engagement stories on Social and Blog with social team to raise awareness of Philanthropy throughout the year in partnership with Impact Marketing and Engagement Specialist

    • Plan and organize giving back activities working collaboratively with Japan Employee Impact colleagues and Impact Marketing and Engagement Specialist for Salesforce external events

    • Maintain Japan Philanthropy website with Impact Marketing and Engagement Specialist

  • Disaster Resilience

    • Support company-wide disaster resilience efforts through strategic partnerships and employee engagement in alignment with global Philanthropy team

Skills Required

  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders internally and externally to achieve strategic objectives

  • Ability to develop strong cross-functional working relationships across functions and geographies

  • Proactive, adaptive, team-oriented, self-starter with a positive can-do attitude

  • Familiar with philanthropy and social impact, either on the corporate side or from a nonprofit perspective

  • Business Level English and Japanese Fluency


Preferred Experience

  • 3+ years experience in grant operations or corporate philanthropy

  • Subject matter expertise in grant operations and/or one or more of our strategic priorities of education & economic opportunity and ecosystem restoration & climate justice

  • Understanding of impact measurement and reporting

  • Fluency in Korean
