Pixelogic was founded in 2016 as a next-gen media supply chain provider focused on premium localization and distribution services for features and series, including marketing materials such as trailers and TV spots. This is a full-time and on-site position.

Responsibilities: 

• Proofread and finalize content translated from English into Japanese subtitle files, ensuring the highest possible technical and linguistic quality standards, using SSTG1Pro, EZTitles subtitling software and/or Pixelogic proprietary cloud-based subtitling software.
• Leverage in-house glossary tool for consistency across products as well as follow client style guide specifications.
• Ensure accurate and culturally sensitive translations that resonate with target audiences.
• Collaborate with the translation team to address language-specific queries and provide constructive feedback to external linguists.
• Handle rejections/make corrections in files.
• Occasionally perform translation From English into Japanese subtitles.
• Meet tight deadlines while maintaining a high standard of quality.

• Manage assignments on a pro-active basis and escalate issues to management.
• Remain current with language and industry trends and adapt to evolving client requirements.
• Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive content.
• Other miscellaneous tasks as assigned by manager(s).

Requirements

• Bachelor's or master's Degree, preferably in Japanese, linguistics, and language study majors and/or Entertainment and Media
• Excellent command of English
• Proficient knowledge and skills of Korean language is a plus
• Minimum of 2 years of subtitle translation and proofreading experience required
• Knowledge of professional scripting, and subtitling software highly desirable
• Deep sense of urgency and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high volume
• Punctuality, dependability, and willingness to adapt to last-minute changes to programming and industry
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Positive attitude when experiencing obstacles and enthusiastic to get things done
• Ability to follow technical/style guide for multiple client content types
• Must be residing in Tokyo, Japan
