The Red Hat Sales team is looking for a Manager of Solutions Architecture to join us in Tokyo, Japan. In this role, you will guide Red Hat's presales function in representing our leading open source technologies to customers and helping them build solutions that address their unique business challenges. Your team will cover various presales phases, including demand creation, demand assessment, technical qualification, high level solutions design and proposal, and competitive analysis. With a breadth of skills from market knowledge, technical knowledge, and business understanding, you and your team will serve as partners to customer’s architecture and technology teams. You'll also partner internally with sales teams to influence account plans, partner relationships, and enablement.


  • Provide expertise and vision and implementation strategies for the Japan presales solutions architecture practice
  • Build, lead, and mentor a team of highly skilled and motivated presales solutions architects
  • Facilitate and streamline hiring, onboarding, enablement, and capability-building programs and processes
  • Build solutions capabilities for presales phases, working closely with the specialist teams and partner, sales, and services stakeholders
  • Achieve key business metrics and sales targets
  • Promote close collaboration with multiple Red Hat’s business functions and ensure adequate technical resource coverage across Japan
  • Help develop reusable methodologies, tools, and capabilities that combine Red Hat’s offerings and services into solutions to solve complex customer challenges
  • Collaborate with Red Hat’s Partners and Alliances management on partner engagement strategies
  • Work with Red Hat’s director of technology and presales for Japan to help ensure consistency of strategy and implementation across Japan

  • 12-15 years of experience in the services industry
  • Experience in customer-facing, people management, and organization leadership roles
  • Record of guiding successful presales teams
  • Technical background as an IT professional in order to relate to and earn credibility with the team; expertise in middleware or infrastructure platforms is a big plus
  • Business development and go-to-market experience
  • Ability to influence change and deal with ambiguity
  • Collaboration and coordination skills
