Red Hat’s Field Marketing team is looking for a Digital and Marketing Operations Specialist to join us in Tokyo, Japan. In this role, you will empower marketers in the Japan region to achieve measurable business impact by engaging existing and prospective customers wherever they are in their journeys. You will be involved in operationalizing the go-to-market for Japan marketers with marketing technology tools and platforms, coordinating the implementation of important contact strategies for our marketing database, and offering support as a marketing technology and operations subject matter expert for other major marketing activities. You will define, align, and implement the global and Asia Pacific (APAC) marketing technology priorities in conjunction with local market requirements in Japan. You will use clearly defined KPIs to track and report success. As a Digital Marketing Operations Specialist, you will serve in a senior operations lead position within the Japan marketing team and you’ll collaborate with executives and sales management and operate in a regional, field, and globally matrixed environment. You will work closely with a digital marketing specialist to plan, implement, and operate data-driven and automated processes and tools that seamlessly integrate marketing front end, which includes web and social media, and back end, which includes MA, customer relationship management (CRM), business intelligence (BI), etc. You will scale up the marketing operations, including communications, events, go-to-market campaigns and demand generation, partner and channel marketing, and account-based marketing.


  • Develop plans with global and APAC teams to ensure that the data and process integrations of systems that support key marketing processes are in sync in Japan
  • Lead marketing infrastructure deployment and integration in Japan, including outlining technology roles and responsibilities and evaluating the maturity of skills and process required to make use of the technology
  • Promote the adoption, use, and optimization of the organization’s current marketing technologies in Japan
  • Periodically coordinate with the global and APAC teams for any Japan-specific customizations of marketing technology tools and processes
  • Create process maps and documentation of marketing technology operational tool workflows in Japan
  • Work with the Marketing Technology Operations team in APAC to deliver effective change management and communications for technology implementation and process reengineering within marketing
  • Work with the Marketing Technology Operations team in APAC on their lead agency rationalization and vendor onboarding on marketing technology tools and platforms
  • Work on platform troubleshooting, especially email marketing and reporting tools with the appropriate Global and APAC teams or vendors
  • Ensure database health, quality, and precision, conforming with privacy laws and regulations
  • Provide enablement of tools and platforms and new marketing technology process updates to the Japan Marketing and Sales teams
  • Document marketing technology tools intake and other processes for Japan Marketing and Sales teams
  • Design and publish Japan marketing KPI dashboard to Japan Marketing and Sales teams, in accordance with global and APAC marketing KPI guidelines
  • Gather and disseminate internal and external marketing technology best practices

  • 10+ years of experience working as a marketing specialist in the technology industry; B2B experience is a plus
  • 5+ years of experience with and deep expertise in operating marketing technology platforms like Eloqua, Salesforce.com (SFDC), etc., and analytics and intelligence platforms like Adobe Analytics, QlikSense, and Tableau
  • Good spreadsheet skills with proven experience managing large datasets and performing analysis
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English and Japanese
  • Understanding of web, social, and digital media in Japan and user behaviors
  • Experience working cross-functionally and as part of multicultural teams
  • Solid leadership skills and executive presence to manage multiple stakeholders and programs at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to project-manage large workloads and meet deadlines
  • Strategic and critical thinking skills with the ability to mine, analyze, and interpret research and data
  • Creative problem-solver who is resourceful in escalation situations with a proactive approach
  • Business and operation process analysis skills; ability to come up with feasible options to optimize
  • Soft skills in coordinating with cross-departmental associates and managers to implement the changes in business and operation process
