Amentum is recruiting for the position of Material Expeditor to be based and physically located in Yokohama, Japan. The Material Expeditor will coordinate and expedite the flow of material for the General Services Administration (GSA) Global Supply OCONUS Logistics Operations Solutions Support in the Indo-Pacific Command’s (INDO-PACOM) Japan Area of Operation (AOR).

This role involves coordinating with supply chain, various stakeholders, and ensuring efficient and compliant operations to meet GSA’s contract requirements. This position will be responsible for conferring with management, making decisions, and managing work requirements and reports in an environment that requires flexibility, adaptability, and responsiveness. The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Locates and expedites material, according to orders, schedules, and priorities, and keeps related records, reviews production schedules inventory reports, and work orders to determine types, quantities, and availability of required material and priorities of customer orders.
  • Confers with supervisors to determine materials overdue and to informs of location, availability, and condition of materials, locates and moves materials to specified production areas, using cart or hand truck, and records quantity and type of materials distributed and on hand.
  • Compares order and receipt specifications with materials, prepares order production records, and updates and maintains inventory records, using computer terminal.
  • Establishes delivery sequences to the sites according to requisition priorities, required delivery dates, and anticipated availability of material; arranging for distribution of material.
  • Applies knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes to ensure adequate purchasing of to maintain consistent inventory levels.
  • Compiles regular and recurring reports to assure real-time status of inventory are available.

Required Qualifications:

  • Three (3) years’ experience in an Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS) environment.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes involved in supply chain and logistics.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be US Citizen
  • NACI Clearance

  • Satisfactory English proficiency to meet job requirements and to adhere and comply with safety, health, and security measures.
  • Experience working with CRM Business Systems, material requisition and ordering systems.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge in operations and maintenance projects in an international environment.
  • Previous experience in an OCONUS environment with a multi-national workforce and/or previous work experience in harsh environmental conditions.
  • Familiarity with military supply chain and distribution operations and standards.
  • Familiarity with GSA, AbilityOne, and Trade Agreements Act (TAA).
  • Knowledge and experience in demand analysis, forecasting, and inventory management.

Physical and/or Other Requirements:

  • Willing and able to perform physical activities including heavy lifting, climbing in and out of equipment, crawling, and working outdoors in austere conditions
  • Candidate must possess a valid passport of home country with a minimum of 12 months remaining to expiration date.
  • Valid Driver’s License from Home of Record with ability to obtain Japanese Driver’s License.
