Job Description

Japan Marketing Description


The marketing team is responsible for promoting and selling Visa’s products or services throughout various marketing channels. This can include tasks such as market research, advertising, promotion, sponsorship, cross border marketing, event planning, VIK and client support.


The goal of the marketing team is to increase brand awareness and usage, and to drive customer engagement, acquisition, and ultimately, business. This can be accomplished through a variety of strategy and tactics, including creating and distributing content, launching advertising campaigns, building partnerships with influencers, merchant partners and clients, and using data analytics to track and measure the success of efforts.

This position is of significant importance to Visa as it support our Media Digital and Data transformation within all marketing operations in Japan.


The individual in this role, armed with a comprehensive understanding of the media & data ecosystems and extensive experience in traditional, digital, and emerging media platforms, plays a pivotal role in our success. They are an analytical and innovative thinker who works closely with Marketing leaders at Visa such as the Head of Japan Consumer Marketing, Regional Head of Media, and Agency partners to develop and implement top-tier, cross-channel media programs and data strategies. Their contributions are crucial in maintaining Visa's competitive edge in the market.
 


What Media & Data Analyst does:


Managing Media planning/buying & Data strategies for Japan Market



  • Manage the development and deployment of media strategy for all key initiatives under general supervision and track adherence in the tactical media plans in partnership with the leaders

  • Evaluate and optimize ongoing campaign performance in collaboration with the leaders to meet KPIs and maximize return on investment.

  • Subject matter expert across media discipline channels – e.g. Connected TV, programmatic, search, social, mobile - towards more effectively targeting and messaging end customers using data.

  • Support our “Value Added Services” through Digital Acquisition and Real-time Creative Personalization, delivering best-in-class media thinking to our end clients.

  • Work closely with the leaders to increase our 1P audience data and engagement with audiences through more powerful, cut-through media innovations.

  • Work closely with the leader to promote key web and digital platforms including owned, earned, and paid digital & social platforms to move business metrics. This includes working with the AP Data lead, managing external agency, support on content development, platform evolution, systems & delivery, and optimization through Google Analytics.

  • Provide strategic rigor & media/channel innovation to the planning & implementation of creative ideas in collaboration with the leaders.

  • Ensure full alignment with audit and compliance requirements.


Website Management



  • Support the creation of new content on the local Visa.co.jp page and recommend webpage layout based on stakeholder needs, brand and style guidelines, UX best practices, and SEO research.

  • Ensure consistency between Global campaign pages and work closely with the JP consumer marketing team to understand creative asset direction.

  • Work closely with AP Hub and initiative owners to increase website visitors through SEM and SEO efforts.

  • Monitor Visa.co.jp site traffic using web analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Content Square to track performance and identify opportunities for website optimization.


This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

What you will need:



  • 5+ years in a media agency, digital sales or client-side roles.

  • Experience in developing and implementing media plans across various channels, including TV, digital including social media in Japan.

  • Experience in programmatic, search, paid social, mobile, and any other emerging media technologies, particularly in acquisition campaigns.

  • Proven track record in successfully managing media budgets and optimizing for ROI.

  • Proven understanding of digital platforms and channel strategies

  • Sales experience/expertise and confidence in presenting/advising clients.

  • Strategic and innovative thinker also capable of strong execution

  • Strong ownership, self-management skills, communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills

  • Business level English and Japanese language skill required.

  • Strong numeric sense and comfort with handling various forms of numbers. Ability to translate numeric data into actionable media buying strategies.


What will also help:



  • Ability to connect dots between data, insights, marketing strategy and business to drive media excellence.

  • Experienced in ad operations, media reporting processes, and QA, including implementation of media platform pixels, IAS, and UTMs.

  • Understand the ad technology ecosystem and concepts such as ad serving, bidding platforms, ad fraud and viewability, DSPs and SSPs.

  • You have previous experience driving 1st party data capture campaigns and establishing 2nd party data partnerships. 

  • Hands-on experience with managing owned platforms (website and social platforms) and campaigns.
