About the role:

The Mining Engineering team is currently seeking a Mining Improvement Analyst to join the team on site at Roy Hill Mine.


Reporting to the Senior Engineer Mining, you will be responsible for identifying, analysing, and implementing improvement opportunities across the mining value chain. Applying your analytical skills and in-depth knowledge of mining operations, you will work closely with the mining leaders, scheduling, and engineering teams to deliver solutions that enhance safety, productivity, and efficiency.

You will help the production teams by analysing and integrating technical data; providing insights and making a real impact for the broader mining team. This role is for candidates who are looking for a challenge, who want to learn and grow, while building a career in mining.

Duties:

  • Conduct data analysis and modelling to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Create reports and dashboard to communicate your insights and drive performance
  • Review weekly and monthly mine schedules and plans to optimise production.
  • Work with the mining supervisors to implement improvement projects
  • Monitor and report on production performance and project progress
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement culture and capability within the mining team

Skills and Experience:

  • Tertiary study in engineering, data science, business or mining related discipline
  • Experience with improvement, analysis or project work within the mining industry
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to use data tools
  • Conversant with Power BI or Tableau and good understanding of SQL or Python
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Exposure with fleet management and mining time usage models is advantageous.
