Job Description

Job Purpose

  • Deliver high-quality scientific engagement and generate actionable insights to strengthen brand strategy.
  • Lead strategic medical projects, including evidence generation, medical events, and publications.
  • Contribute to MSL team capability development through mentoring, coaching, and role-model leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain high-quality scientific relationships with scientific experts and conduct effective scientific exchange aligned with brand strategy.
  • Generate high-value field insights and translate them into actionable recommendations to strengthen strategy.
  • Lead strategic medical projects and scientific programs through effective cross-functional collaboration.
  • Mentor and coach fellow MSLs, contributing to MSL capability development and team effectiveness.
  • Role-model Amgen Values and Leadership Attributes and ensure compliance with applicable policies and procedures.
  • Identify and support research and evidence-generation opportunities, including investigator-sponsored studies and Amgen-sponsored trials.

Basic Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in life-science or relevant area, equivalent education history.
  • Relevant experience in Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, or related pharmaceutical functions.
  • Strong communication skills with scientific experts and internal stakeholders.
  • Fluent in Japanese and English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degrees (PhD, MD, or PharmD) preferred.
  • Strong scientific expertise and experience in the relevant therapeutic area.
  • Strong mentoring and coaching skills with demonstrated leadership.
  • Ability to work independently and lead effectively across cross-functional teams.
