POSITION SUMMARY:
Act as technical advisorto support Carrier Strike Group and/or the Expeditionary Strike Group/Amphibious ready Group Staff during installation and testing of C4ISR systems\.Provide end\-to\-end technical support for C4ISR, RF, and IT systems; assist CSG/ESGand other staffs with speed\-to\-capability technology insertions; providefeedback to COMSPAWAR/PEO C4I/PEO EIS on system performance, design andlogistics issues\. Work with local and distance supportmaintenance/support organizations to resolve technical issues\.
MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:
As Technical Advisor toARG/CSG Staff N6, provide assist in troubleshooting C4ISR issues and makerecommendations concerning issue resolution and system employment andoptimization\.
Works with shipboardtechnicians, staff officers, In Service Engineering Activity \(ISEA\) and othertechnicians, installation engineers, Fleet Readiness Directorate staff, andothers as required to ensure required end\-to\-end connectivity to satisfy fleetC4ISR requirements\.
Documents issues andresolution of issues using Remedy\.
Provides OJT on systemsfor shipboard and shore technicians\. May be required to mentorcivilian/government technicians\.
Assist shipboardtechnicians in preparation of systems for inspections\. Assist withSOVT and SOT when directed\.
Candidate must becapable of working independently with little or no supervision in a highoperations tempo environment, and be willing to work a flexible schedule,including shipboard deployments between 8\-12 weeks and other overseas travel\.
Perform other duties asassigned\.
MATERIAL & EQUIPMENTDIRECTLY USED:
Navy computer systemsand Remedy ITSM will be used primarily\.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Candidate’s primary workwill be aboard Navy ships, and may be based out of a Vectrus office orgovernment office/lab when not required aboard ship\. In order toprovide required service to fleet assets, work at times other than normalworking hours may be required\. Premium pay will be paid for underway periods\.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
Personnel may berequired to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time\. Individual must be ableto lift up to 30 lbs\. unassisted and meet U\.S\. Navy medical requirements as detailedin COMUSFLTFORCOM/COMPACFLT 6320\.3A\.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certifications: One year relatedexperience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required\.
Minimum of BS in Information Technology \(orequivalent technical degree\) and 6 years technical experience, or 12 yearstechnical experience with Afloat Navy or Marine Corps C4Irequired\. Certification as IAT2 \(per DoD Inst 8750\.1 and Navyrequirements\) with appropriate IA certification required and computing environmentcertification highly desired\. Operating systems can include Cisco IOS,Unix \(Linux/Solaris\), and/or Windows 2008/2012 and Win7\. VMWare andworking knowledge of storage technologies including NetApp, EMC, and IBMappliances highly desired\.
Experience:
Minimum of 6 years ofexperience with Navy C4I, with experience in some of the following required:Windows Server 2008/2012, Active Directory, Group Policies, Exchange 2008,ISA/TMG server application, Alcatel Switches 7700/6800, Cisco routers and switches,VMWare, NetApp, EMC, and/or IBM storage\. Familiarity withconfiguring/troubleshooting servers, Cisco Routers/Switches or AlcatelSwitches, Cisco Access Control Lists, TCP/IP, and security protocols required\.General experience with RF systems such as AN/WSC\-6, AN/WSC\-8/9, USC\-38 or NavyMultiband Terminal, UHF SATCOM, Global Broadcasting Systemdesired\. Knowledge of Command and Control display systems such asGCCS\-M and/or DCGS\-N preferred\. Experience with Information Assurance \(OSE\-CND\)– HBSS, McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator and Scanning tools/ACAS, WSUS required\.Excellent written and verbal communications skillsrequired\. Experience using Remedy for ticketdocumentation/resolution desired\.
Skills:
Must be able totroubleshoot end\-to\-end connectivity involving multiple sites and systems\. Mustbe able to communicate well both orally and in writing\. Must be ableto communicate well with senior Navy officials and technicalpersonnel\. Must be able to provide OJT to technical personnel andreview/understand technical documentation\.
