TEAM
Managing employee payroll and attendance is a complex and time-consuming task, but vital to employee happiness and success by ensuring employees are paid appropriately and can work in a healthy environment. Our payroll team manages over 1300+ individual payroll processes and 1,800+ attendance records every month with the help of 4 team members. As a team we emphasize close communication and collaboration to ensure our operations are completed as efficiently and effectively as possible.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
As a Payroll & Labor Specialist, you will be responsible for managing new joiners,leavers, and LOA employees, providing employee support regarding taxes and social insurance, reviewing various statutory procedures, and ensuring the quality improvement and compliance of payroll-related processes.
Note: While monthly payroll calculation itself will not be your direct responsibility, deep knowledge of payroll/labor management is required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
・Onboarding/Offboarding Management for Joiners and Leavers
・Checking information entered by employees into the system as well as documents submitted
・Following up on necessary corrections and additional information required
・Attendance Management
・Monitoring working hours and PTO (Paid Time Off) of employees
・Reviewing Childbirth/Childcare/Medical LOA (Leave of Absence) applications
・Responding to Employee Inquiries regarding Taxes and Social Insurance
・Providing guidance on income tax, residential tax, social insurance, etc
・Explain required paperwork and offer application support for health insurance dependent registration
・Liaison and Coordination with Payroll and Social Security Attorney Vendors
・Supporting issue resolution and process improvement
・Audit Response and Compliance Support
・Preparing necessary documents and improving internal control processes
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Work experience in Human Resources
- Practical knowledge and understanding of employee onboarding/offboarding, payroll operations, attendance management, social insurance, and income tax
- Experience in operating payroll/time and attendance system (Dayforce, ADP, etc., is welcome)
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- High communication skills for employee interaction
- Strong sense of confidentiality and compliance
- Native level Japanese with English communication skills (reading, writing and speaking)
NICE TO HAVES
- Work experience in a global company, shared services or social/labor law firm
- Experience in process improvement and vendor management
- Accounting/financial knowledge related to salary payment
- Experience in leveraging BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc., is welcome)
