What's the role?

As a member of the global People Services Team, this role delivers regional people transactional and operational services, including payroll coordination and facilitation, whilst ensuring a high level of service is provided to our internal and external stakeholders. The People & Payroll Advisor will facilitate people related processes and services, process regional payroll, respond to people and payroll queries, and provide people and payroll (financial) related reporting. In addition, this position will coordinate with payroll vendors, complete administration associated with onboarding, cross boarding and other employee activities during their lifecycle with Zespri.

Responsibilities include:

1. Payroll Processing and Support

  • Resolve Regional Payroll queries
  • Payroll coordination and processing for applicable countries
  • Liaise with Payroll vendors
  • Provide Financial related reporting
  • Assist with the onboarding and termination of employees as it relate to payroll processing
  • Monthly reporting i.e. Time and leave reporting
  • Provide backup payroll services in the absence of other People & Payroll team members

2. People Transactional Services

  • Generation of Employment Agreements and variation letters for people movements
  • Provide documentation to support People related activities
  • Support and execute onboarding and offboarding activities
  • Visa and Global mobility coordination
  • Coordination and facilitation of employee insurance and benefit plans (including reporting)
  • Responding to employee and people leader queries through the people team mailbox and direct enquiries
  • Administration and coordination to support the annual people cycle i.e. performance reviews, annual remuneration review, Financial year end activities etc.
  • Maintain employee (personnel) files
  • Support, contribute to, and implement people process excellence improvements within the region
  • Contribute to the global transactional team and provide cover and support as needed.

3. People Systems and Process support

  • Provide expert knowledge in Zespri People processes
  • Act as key stakeholder and contribute to and support process improvement work

4. Other

  • Assist with coordination of global company insurance and reporting
  • Assist with Coordination of Conflict of Interest
  • Flex across to support People team as required
  • Project work as required

Who are you?

The People & Payroll Advisor will support the PeopleZone (HRIS) system with Level One People Process query resolution and will be a team player, supporting local People Business Partners and the wider team to achieve our People objectives. The successful candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resource Management or similar, or relevant equivalent experience
  • 3+ years payroll processing experience preferable in a complex environment with multiple countries
  • 3+ years Previous HR coordination experience including HR admin, employment contract generation, variations, across multiple countries
  • Working understanding of human resource and payroll principles, practices and procedures (including experience supporting visa processing)
  • Experience working with employee related HRIS systems
  • Intermediate - Senior Excel skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Proven organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and complex environment
