JR41774 Physical Verification Development/Release/Support CAD Senior Engineer/Engineer

As a physical verification CAD engineer, you will be responsible for developing and releasing DRC (Design Rule Check) rules to be used by EDA tools to confirm that the designed layout abides by those rules for chip manufacturability. You will also be responsible for collaborating with global CAD members on developing new tools and flows, and interacting with EDA vendor companies to facilitate the flows, and support Micron users.

  • Build DRC rules decks jointly with the process technology organization, and then release them to the design community. Guide the design teams across Micron and implement any requests/feedback received.

  • Work with the process technology development team members located at global sites to acquire details concerning the process to develop and understand the DRC rules which should be developed and released.

  • Develop new tools, flows, and methodologies for physical verification of layout.

  • Debug and trouble-shoot EDA vendor tool issues, and interact/collaborate with the EDA vendors to solve these issues.

  • Support users of the physical verification tools and flows.

Qualifications:

Knowledge and experience of the following:

  • CAD design environment, especially using layout design tools.

  • Using physical verification tools (e.g. Siemens EDA Calibre).

  • Basic knowledge of Micron's process technology.

  • Experience in programming in Python and Cadence SKILL, with perl and C/C++ also a plus.

  • Willingness to learn the above items if experience is limited.

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

  • Bachelor Degree or relevant experience
