Department Overview

The Customer Management Department is at the forefront of protecting and enhancing the value of the Rakuten brand. Our mission is to ensure the safety and security of our customers across our commerce services-starting with our founding business, Rakuten Ichiba-and to expand our base of loyal Rakuten fans.
The Fraud countermeasure section, relevant to this position, serves as the security frontline for the Commerce & Marketing Company. We are responsible for implementing efficient and effective countermeasures against a wide range of fraudulent and inappropriate activities, including credit card fraud, in close collaboration with relevant businesses and departments.

Position Details

In this role, you will handle daily fraud cases, plan medium- to long-term security enhancement measures, and develop systems to improve operational efficiency. Even if you do not have prior experience in fraud prevention, we welcome candidates with strong professional capabilities. Specialized knowledge can be acquired through on-the-job training and internal programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Analysis of fraudulent and inappropriate transactions and planning of countermeasures
- Collaboration and coordination with business units and development departments
- Project management
- Management of various KPIs
- Vendor management


Specific Project Examples
- Proposing ID security measures for all businesses within the Commerce & Marketing Company
- Establishing cross-company processes for sharing fraud-related information

Work Environment

Organization Structure
- Size: Approx. 50 members in the Customer Management Department; approx. 20 in the Fraud Prevention Division
- Age range: Diverse across all generations
- New Graduate/Mid-career ratio: 2:8

Backgrounds of Mid-career Hires
- Corporate sales experience in finance or retail industries
- Management experience in BPO companies
- System engineering experience
Career Path Examples of Successful Hires
- Promoted to management within one year of joining

Mandatory Qualifications:

- Experience in logical hypothesis testing, pattern analysis, and strategy formulation utilizing large-scale data,OR,Project task/process management skills and high-level negotiation experience with stakeholders (Approximately 3 years or more​)
- Experience in leading projects smoothly by involving multiple departments

Desired Qualifications:

- 3+ years of PM/PMO experience at an operating company, or 3+ years of consulting experience
- Business-level English proficiency
- Work experience related to fraud prevention
- Experience in security-related roles
- Experience in creating presentations/materials for executive-level audiences
