Software Technology Solutions Intern, Program Management

Location: Remote; San Diego, CA

Position Purpose

STS Program Management is responsible for managing the execution of programs including one or more software engineering projects. Project Managers work with software product development teams to deliver software increments leveraging agile practices. Project Managers serve as scrum masters and servant leaders to their teams. Project Managers optimize delivery within the constraints of budget, schedule and scope while managing and communicating risk and ensuring adherence to established processes.

The candidate must be an effective communicator, problem-solver, and possess the ability to pull together ideas and suggestions, and then implement in the project plans.

The selected candidate will bring new ideas, creativity and perspectives to our organization. You will lead by example, with a focus on accountability, collaboration, and transparency. You will also nurture a sense of camaraderie, success and appreciation among your team, and identify opportunities to improve team effectiveness.

Accountabilities

• Foundational knowledge of project and program management principles, software development work, practices and culture.

• Facilitates Agile/Scrum practices and Scaled Agile practices across a release train, leveraging the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).

• Facilitates identification of project risks/issues, develops and assigns responsibility for mitigation/resolution actions; manages mitigation plan.

• Serves as a scrum master and servant leader to the project team. Practical knowledge and application of Agile software development principles.

• Uses project management tools, including Application Lifecycle Management (ALM, Jira) and enterprise Project Management (Planview).

• Synthesizes critical information and communicates implications to project stakeholders.

• Facilitates meetings, tracks outcomes and action items, and follows up with participants for fulfillment.

• Effective writing, speaking, and presentation skills required.

Required Qualification:

• High School Diploma or GED
