Our client is a company that provides industrial services to create a more sustainable environment. Their services are offered to both the public and private sector and can be classified into 3 main areas: water, waste, and energy management. The company's history dates back 150 years and they are now a publicly listed company. The Japan office was established over 20 years ago and now has over 3,000 employees. Their Japan office is based in central Tokyo.
Description
* Partner with local stakeholders to understand category needs of business units
* Conduct market research to benchmark suppliers and investigate potential areas for savings
* Initiate RFQs, evaluate suppliers, negotiate pricing and contract terms
* Ensure compliance against company's purchasing policies when it comes to purchasing activities, purchase order approvals, vendor information, etc.
* Participate in projects related to facilities and construction by supporting business units from procurement perspective
Profile
* Minimum 5 years of direct or indirect purchasing experience
* Experience sourcing and negotiating contracts with suppliers
* People management or team lead experience preferred
* Experience working in a manufacturing company required
* Fluent Japanese skills required and business level English skills preferred
* Must be a resident of Japan and/or must hold a valid working visa for Japan
