Role and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head of Digital Web Engineering, the Javascript Quality Engineer will play a critical role in driving innovation and growth for the Banking Solutions business. In this role, the candidate will have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the company's digital transformation journey, drive customer-centric innovation and automation, and position the organization as a leader in the competitive digital banking landscape. Specifically, the Javascript Quality Engineer will be responsible for the following:
Lead the planning, design, and execution of comprehensive quality assurance strategies and testing processes specifically tailored for Javascript applications across multiple web browsers.
Develop test plans, test cases, and test scenarios for functional, non-functional, regression, and performance testing of web apps, ensuring thorough coverage of requirements and user scenarios.
Design, implement, and maintain automated testing frameworks and scripts using tools such as Appium, XCTest, Espresso, or similar, to streamline regression testing and ensure test repeatability.
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps, and collaborate with DevOps teams to ensure automated testing is part of the development workflow.
Stay updated with the latest web testing tools, technologies, and best practices, and evaluate their applicability to enhance testing efficiency, coverage, and accuracy for web apps.
Conduct performance testing, load testing, and scalability testing of web apps to identify bottlenecks, optimize app performance, and ensure smooth user experience under various usage scenarios.
Collaborate with security teams to implement and execute web app security testing, including vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and compliance checks to meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Identify, prioritize, and track defects using bug tracking systems (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla) and collaborate with development teams to ensure timely resolution and validation of fixes.
Evaluate web app usability, accessibility, and user experience (UX) design elements through usability testing, A/B testing, and user feedback analysis to enhance overall app quality and user satisfaction.
Document test plans, test cases, test results, and testing metrics, and generate comprehensive test reports and dashboards for stakeholders, highlighting quality insights, risks, and recommendations.
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including developers, product managers, designers, and QA teams, and communicate testing progress, issues, and recommendations clearly and concisely.
Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in web QA, participate in training programs, and contribute to knowledge sharing within the QA community to drive continuous improvement in testing processes and methodologies.
Professional Qualifications
Proficient in creating test plans, test cases, and test scenarios for web applications across all supported browsers and platforms.
Experience in functional testing, regression testing, usability testing, performance testing, and security testing of web apps.
Familiarity with web testing frameworks and tools such as Selenium Espresso, Calabash, or similar.
Strong hands-on experience in developing and maintaining automated test scripts for web apps using relevant tools and frameworks.
Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript for automation tasks and test script development.
Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and working collaboratively with DevOps teams.
Understanding of web app development frameworks, architectures, and technologies to effectively design and execute testing strategies.
Ability to analyze logs, debug issues, and troubleshoot web app performance, compatibility, and functionality issues.
Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, processes, and best practices, including agile testing methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
Experience in creating and maintaining test documentation, defect tracking, and reporting using tools like Jira, Bugzilla, TestRail, or similar.
Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, product managers, designers, and QA teams.
Ability to articulate testing progress, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders, and contribute to discussions on quality-related decisions.
Strong analytical skills to identify test scenarios, prioritize testing efforts, and analyze test results to identify defects and areas for improvement.
Proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues, perform root cause analysis, and work collaboratively with teams to resolve technical challenges.

Description: Summary: Responsible for providing high-level consulting services to clients and preparing programming assignments. Designs, plans and supervises implementation of complex, large-scale system projects. Reviews, analyzes, and modifies programming systems including encoding, testing, debugging and installing for a complex, large-scale computer system. Assists in supervising the daily activities of the project team members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides high-level consulting services to client personnel (e.g., advises client on complex issues involving new regulation, technology or system functionality; evaluates various technical and business solutions and makes recommendations to client; troubleshoots errors and inefficiencies related to the application(s) and related processes; advises client on technical direction and specific business issues).
Maintains project estimates and project management timelines for multiple major projects.
Verifies completeness and accuracy of specifications for multiple major projects to be estimated (e.g., report changes, control file changes, file fixes).
Determines programming requirements for multiple major projects (e.g., product updates, conversions).
Researches and designs system modules, program enhancements and modifications to existing programs or modules.
Creates documents to communicate complex technical information to audiences of all levels.
Conducts research and documents findings and recommendations by using analytical problem solving.
Provides client support, training, testing and vendor relations.
Develops technical designs that will meet system objectives and minimize the impact on operations.
Maintains and develops on-line and batch application programs.
Codes programs that interface with multiple applications.
Trains new employees on all aspects of an application or system product.
Develops complex procedural language routines.
Provides applications development and support and utilizes troubleshooting and diagnostic tools.
Monitors, measures, and optimizes individual and combined utilization of hardware, software, and telecommunications components.
Responsible for software installation and maintenance. May act as project leader.
Develops and implements a disaster recovery plan.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
