Artificial intelligence is a key technology to not only address some symptoms of these issues, but also helping create completely new innovative approaches that can create a more sustainable economy and lifestyle.
Recursive is an AI consulting company based in Japan working on developing solutions to some of these challenging problems. We collaborate with large Japanese enterprises to create innovative solutions to sustainability challenges, merging in our expertise in AI research and our client's domain knowledge. Our development projects focus around the main themes of improving efficiency, accelerating innovation, risk mitigation and better work and education.
Recursive is founded by Tiago Ramalho and Katsutoshi Yamada. Tiago was a Senior Research Engineer at Google Deepmind and Lead Research scientist at Cogent labs and brings years of machine learning expertise to the company. Katsutoshi is a serial entrepreneur and AI expert with experience in developing and establishing innovative business models in Japan and abroad.
Founded in 2020, we are now looking to grow and expand our impact further, building on previous successes. One of many initiatives we are currently pursuing is a system to optimize the irrigation of peatlands in Indonesia, helping to prevent forest fires and maximize carbon absorption. The role
As a LLM Engineer at Recursive, you will work on cutting-edge AI projects, focusing on creating robust data and AI pipelines using Large Language Models (LLM) and multimodal LLM. This role emphasizes data management, backend development, and cloud integration, with minimal focus on training models or mathematical tasks.We welcome candidates with varying levels of experience. Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain AI pipelines using LLM and multimodal LLM.
- Manage and integrate databases, ensuring efficient data handling and retrieval.
- Conduct benchmarking and quantitative analysis to optimize AI performance.
- Implement backend solutions to support AI applications.
- Utilize cloud services for deploying and scaling AI solutions.
- Collaborate with front-end developers for seamless integration of AI functionalities into user-facing applications.
- Stay updated with the latest AI and technology trends to continuously improve our systems.
Requirements
- Background in a scientific or engineering discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, etc.).
- Strong programming skills, particularly in backend development.
- Experience with data management and database operations and optimizations.
- Proficiency in at least one major cloud provider’s offering (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Familiarity with benchmarking and quantitative analysis methods.
- Basic front-end development skills are a plus.• Passion for AI and its applications.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
- Desire to create impactful AI solutions that benefit society and the environment.
