The Regional Marketing Manager is responsible for working closely with the local Japan sales team to create and execute high-touch regional marketing programs that increase Tanium brand awareness, establish thought leadership and create demand for Tanium. The marketing manager will generate quality pipeline, and progress prospects through the sales cycles, while remaining focused on customer retention and expansion programs as well. They will also be responsible for helping land brand awareness and digital marketing programs that would be run by global marketing but would need local market inputs to be successful.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting creative and untraditional events that garner new interest from our target audience, as well as community-oriented events for our existing customers in the market. Day-to-day responsibilities will include supporting and executing a variety of field marketing initiatives and iterating on current event programs based on results/outcomes.

What you’ll do:

  • Strategize, build and execute integrated field campaigns that involve email marketing, direct mail, digital, social and other channels as you see fit.
  • Manage all aspects of event coordination including strategy, event messaging, signage, giveaways, contract negotiation, vendor relations, site selection, registration, agenda scheduling, staffing, on-site production and F&B, and logistics.
  • Elevate Tanium brand awareness by executing in-region marketing campaigns, tied to corporate marketing initiatives.
  • Research industry events and marketing/campaign opportunities and evaluate sponsorship based on Tanium’s objectives and target audience.
  • Conduct post-event/campaign evaluations and ROI analysis; report and share results and recommendations with sales team and marketing teams.
  • Successfully prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and budgets.

Who we’re looking for – candidates with:

  • Proven ability to develop marketing strategies and end-to-end programs that will fulfil strategic goals within the region especially creating high quality marketing pipeline (30% of total pipeline)
  • Strong relationship skills with the ability to manage relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Enthusiastic and motivated self-starter with a proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously while having acute attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to travel domestically is required
  • Alignment to Tanium values and culture (passion, intelligence, integrity, achievement orientation)
  • Good understanding of the Japan markets
  • Date orientation and ability to analyse campaign ROI

Experience:

  • Education: under-graduate qualifications in business, engineering or related field
  • 10-15 years of marketing experience for technology companies in similar roles
  • Currently based in Japan and having the legal rights to work in Japan
  • 7-8 years of field marketing experience and running demand generation campaigns
  • Proven experience with Salesforce.com and marketing automation tools (Marketo, Techtarget etc.)
  • Hands on knowledge of working with agencies, creating POs, loading leads, measuring ROI
  • Demonstrated success in working remotely over the last few years in the new way of working
